DMP files 2,214 cases for traffic law violations

DHAKA, Sept 7, 2026 (BSS) - The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) trafficdivision filed 2,214 cases against motorists for violating traffic lawsduring an operation across the capital on Sunday.

The operation, conducted on September 6, also led to the dumping of 478vehicles and the towing of 319 others, according to a DMP statement issuedhere today.

The Traffic-Ramna division filed 137 cases while Lalbagh recorded 185,Motijheel 270, Wari 500, Tejgaon 139, Mirpur 346, Uttara 423 and Gulshan 204cases.

Among the vehicles involved in the violations were buses, trucks, coveredvans, CNG-run auto-rickshaw and motorcycles.

The DMP vowed that such operations would continue to maintain trafficdiscipline and enforce traffic laws across the capital.
