DHAKA, Sept 9, 2026 (BSS) - A month-long Islamic book fair will begin at the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque in Dhaka on Friday, marking the 1448 Hijri.

Organised by the Islamic Foundation, the fair will open at 10am at the eastern and southern courtyards of the national mosque, according to a press release of the Islamic Foundation.

The fair is expected to bring together readers, writers, publishers and Islamic literature enthusiasts from different parts of the country, creating a lively platform for learning and promoting Islamic culture.

A total of 206 publishing houses and organisations from Bangladesh and abroad are taking part in this year's fair.
Visitors will find a wide range of books on the Holy Quran, Hadith, Seerah, Islamic philosophy, history, research, religious literature, and books suitable for children and teenagers.

Alongside well-known publishing houses, various Islamic publishing organisations will display and sell their books at the fair.

This will give readers interested in Islamic knowledge an opportunity to explore and buy books from different publishers in one place.

The Islamic Foundation hopes the fair will help promote Islamic knowledge, reading habits and moral values among people.

It also expects the event to play an important role in introducing the younger generation to the Holy Quran, Hadith and the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

Fair organisers also aim to spread Islam's messages of peace, equality, humanity and welfare through the fair.
