Uttara restaurant fire brought under control

DHAKA, Sept 9, 2026 (BSS) - A fire that broke out at a restaurant on the fifth floor of a six-storey building at Center Point Shopping Mall near Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Uttara, Dhaka, was brought under control this afternoon.

The fire was brought under control at 1:40pm after 35 minutes of frantic efforts by six firefighting units, which rushed to the scene soon after the Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD) received the information at 12:45pm, said Media officer of fire service Talha bin Zasim. 

However, the cause of the fire and the extent of damage could not immediately be ascertained.
