DHAKA, March 4, 2025 (BSS) - Legends of Rupganj made a dominating start to the Dhaka Premier League (DPL) by clinching a 10-wicket win over Gazi Group Cricketers at BKSP-3 ground today.

Shoriful's disciplined bowling was key in wrapping Gazi Group up for just 93 in 38.5 overs, a total that Rupganj gunned down for no wicket loss in just 13.5 overs.

Shoriful wrecked havoc on Gazi Group by claiming 4-14 in 10 overs and was supported by Tanvir Islam who scalped 3-23.

Tanzid hammered a 46 ball-65 not out with 10 fours and two sixes to lead the side to the victory with incredible ease. His fellow opener Saif Hasan was unbeaten on 27.

Shoriful's blow early in the innings made Gazi Group completely disarray after they were put into bat first. Shoriful took all of his four wickets in his first two overs to leave Gazi Group a disastrous spot as they lost six wickets with just four runs on the board.

The scoreboard got some life thanks to Tofael Ahmed and Wasi Siddique who put on 47 runs for the seventh wicket. Tanvir Islam took the wickets of both of the batters with Tofael making 24 and Wasi scoring 28.

No. 9 batter Abdul Gaffar Saqlain top-scored with 26 to edge the side past 90 somehow. But it proved to be completely insufficient at the end.
