Tahsin shares 3rd position in World Jr. Chess

DHAKA, March 4, 2025 (BSS) - FIDE Master Tahsin Tajwar Zia shared the third position along with other nine players and secured five points after the seventh round in the World Junior (Under-20 Years) Chess Championship which is now being held in Petrovac, Montenegro. 

International Master Manon Reja Neer bagged 3.5 points. 

The seventh round matches were held on Monday last with FIDE Master Tahsin Tajwar Zia defeated Int'l Master Talibov Shiroghlan of Azerbaijan.

 FIDE Master Tahsin played with black pieces in Queen's Gambit Declined game against International Master Talibov Shiroghlan. International Master Talibov Shiroglan made three consecutive weak moves on moves 27, 28, and 29, putting FIDE Master Tahsin Tajwar Zia in a winning position and FM Tahsin winning in 30 moves. 

International Master Manon Reja Neer split point with FIDE Master Djurovic Peko of Montenegro. Neer played with black pieces' choice the Caro-Kann defense, the game continued to the Panov attack system and drew in 43rd moves. 8

The eighth round games are scheduled to be held this evening from 8PM (Bangladesh time). In 8th round FIDE Master Tahsin Tajwar Zia scheduled to meet with Int'l Master Galaviz Medina Sion Radamantys and Int'l Master Manon Reja Neer face FIDE Master Krivenko Dion of Estonia.
