DHAKA, March 5, 2025 (BSS)-Bangladesh women's kabaddi team will start their 6th edition of Asian Women's Kabaddi Championship campaign when they face defending champions India scheduled to be held tomorrow (Thursday) at the Iranian town of Pardis, 17 kilometers away from the capital Tehran.

The match kicks off at 2:30 pm (BST).

Bangladesh, which pitted in pool A alongside Thailand, India and Malaysia, will play their second group match against Malaysia on the same day at 6:30 pm and play their ultimate group match against Thailand on Friday (March 7) at 1:30 pm. All the matches will be held at Bangladesh time.

The pool B consists with hosts Iran, Nepal, and Iraq to complete this seven-team women's kabaddi tournament. Iran has finished as runners-up twice, in 2007 and 2008, and had two third-place finishes in 2016 and 2017.

The semifinals and final of the championship will be held on March 7 and March 8, respectively.

The championship will serve as a platform ahead of the Women's Kabaddi World Cup, set to take place in Bihar later this year. This will serve as a preparatory ground for the participating teams to fine-tune their skills.

Earlier, Bangladesh kabaddi team clinched bronze medal in the inaugural meet in 2005.
