DHAKA, March 5, 2025 (BSS)—Zimbabwe will visit Bangladesh for a two-match
Test series in April, a Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) official said.

Zimbabwe were supposed to play these two Tests in the last year alongside a
three T20 Internationals. Since T20 World Cup was knocking at the door at that
time, the two teams reached in a consensus to play five T20 matches to prepare
for the World Cup, instead of playing two Tests.

These two Test matches will be held this year, said Shahriar Nafees, in-charge of
the BCB's Cricket Operations.

“Last year, Zimbabwe toured Bangladesh and two Tests and three T20Is were
scheduled to be played in that tour,” Nafees said. “Since we had T20 World Cup
ahead of us, we rescheduled that series and played five T20Is, instead of playing
two Test matches,” he added.

“But we had two Test matches left to play. Playing Test cricket is one of our top
priorities,” Nafees added.

We don't want to reduce the two Test matches that didn't happen last year. We
will reschedule that series and play two Tests in April this year,' he said.
Regarding the venue of this series, Nafees said, 'We will inform the media about
the venue and the specific date very soon.”

Since there are two Test matches, one will definitely be outside Dhaka, Nafees
informed.

“Since the Dhaka Premier League is going on, the Dhaka ground will be busy. We
have sought advice from the ground department,” he said.

“They will advise us and thereafter we will be able to inform everything properly,”
he added.
