Tahsin splits point with his Canadian rival

DHAKA, March 6, 2025 (BSS)- FIDE Master Tahsin Tajwar Zia split point with International Master Atanasov Anthony of Canada in the 9th round of World Junior (Under-20 Years) Chess Championship held in Petrovac, Montenegro on Wednesday last evening.

Tahsin played with black pieces in Colley system of Queen's Pawn Opening game and drew with IM Atanasov Anthony after 31 moves. He secured 5.5 points after 9th round. 

IM Manon Reja Neer also split point with FM Akhilbay Imangali of Kazakhstan. 

Neer played with black pieces to choose the Sicilian Defense, the game continued Four Knights Variation and ended drew after 24 moves. He bagged five points after ninth round. 

The 10th or penultimate round is scheduled to be held today (Thursday) at 8 pm (BST).
