DHAKA, March 6, 2025 (BSS) - Young opener Parvez Hossain Emon hit century as Abahani Limited clawed back into winning way in Dhaka Premier League (DPL) with a gigantic 162-run win over Gulshan Cricket Club at BKSP-4 ground today.

Emon's 124 ball-126 runs knock, featuring nine fours and eight sixes propelled Abahani to 323-6, a total that proved to be beyond the reach of the opponent.

Abahani batters came up with unwavering resolve, led by Emon. Captain Najmul Hossain Shanto failed again, scoring just 9.

Emon got ably support from Mohammad Mithun, who struck 72 off 65 with six fours and three sixes. Emon and Mithun put on 171-run for the third wicket to lay a solid base for the big total.

After their departure, Mahfujur Rahman Rabby hammered 14 ball-28 and Mosaddek Hossain Saikat hit 35 not out to help the side go past 300.

Gulshan eventually put up 161-9 with the last batter Rayhan Ali Ikram staying absent hurt.

Gulshan's opener Zawad Abrar made a fluent start by hammering 36 off 18 before Mehedi Hasan cut short his stay. Khalid Hasan made team-high 49 while Nihad Uz Zaman chipped-in-with 35.

After missing Gulshan's first match against Mohammedan, Liton returned to the fold but failed to make it count after being out for 14.

Left-arm spinner Rakibul Hasan claimed 4-40 while pacer Mrittunjoy Chowdhury took 3-29.

New comer Gulshan sprung a surprise, beating Mohammedan by 107 runs in the opening game but they couldn't come up with same vigor against Abahani.
