DHAKA, April 7, 2025 (BSS)- After resuming competitive cricket following the 
clearance of International Cricket Council (ICC), allrounder Nasir Hossain 
vowed to make a comeback into the national team.

The 33-year old believes he still has the chance to give his best at the 
highest level.

"Everyone who plays cricket dreams of representing their country," Nasir told 
the reporters today at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium. "I still 
believe I have a chance if I can perform up to the mark."

Nasir was handed a two-year ban from all cricket in September 2023, with six 
months suspended, for breaching the ICC's Anti-Corruption Code.

As per the terms of the sanction, Nasir has now fulfilled all requirements, 
including completing the mandatory Anti-Corruption Education session. This 
has paved the way for his eligibility to re-enter official cricket.

As soon as his ban was lifted, Nasir featured for Rupganj Tigers in their 
Dhaka Premier League match against Gazi Group Cricketers. He took one wicket 
for 31 runs in 10 overs and scored just 9 runs as his side won the game by 
eight wickets.

"It feels really great to be back," he said. "I missed the cricket so much."

Nasir said it doesn't feel like a debut match but he felt everything in a new 
way.

"Although it doesn't appear that it's my debut game, a lot of things felt 
new," he said, adding that he found it new to pack the kit bag, getting ready 
after so long. "It felt good. I just wish I could've performed better, he 
said. 

Nasir informed that he got many offers upon his return but chose Rupganj 
Tigers because he believed it was the right environment for him.
 
"Rupganj was the team whose environment, I felt good for me. That's why I 
chose this club," he said. 

The allrounder also said he remains motivated to continue playing as long as 
it is possible and vowed to regain his full fitness.

 "Fitness is important. I've gained some weight, but as long as there's 
demand, I want to keep playing," he added.
