Tanzid hits century in Rupganj's crushing victory

DHAKA, April 7, 2025 (BSS) - A day after his pledge to take a more responsibility by playing long innings, Tanzid Hasan Tamim struck a scintillating century to lead Legends of Rupganj to a crushing 10-wicket victory over Partex Sporting Club in a Dhaka Premier League (DPL) game at BKSP-3 ground today. 

In a practice session yesterday, the young Bangladesh opener expressed his sheer displeasure on himself for the way he often threw out his start despite getting well set. He vowed to rectify this issued and also promised to show his improvement in this ongoing DPL. 

Less than 24 hours, he went by his word by smashing a marauding 59 ball-103 not out that guided his side to a fifth victory in the league. By virtue of this victory, Legends of Rupganj also kept them in Super Six race.

Asked to bat first, Partex were bowled out for paltry 129 in 34.4overs with Rubel Mea making highest 24. Rupganj's offspinner Mahedi Hasan ran through Partex batting line up with 4-34.

Tanzid smote 10 fours and seven sixes in his 103 not out as Rupganj sealed the victory in just 18.3 overs. Captain Saif Hassan was not out on 26.

In the day's other match BKSP-4 ground, Agrani Bank romped to a four-wicket win over Brothers Union for their sixth victory in the league. The victory put them in fourth position in the point table.
