DHAKA, April 8, 2025 (BSS) - The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) today announced a 15-member squad for the two-match Test series against Zimbabwe, scheduled to be held later this month. Pace spearhead Taskin Ahmed was a notable omission from the squad due to an injury.

“Taskin is currently rehabilitating for a left Achilles tendon issue and is not available for the series,” BCB’s Senior Physician Dr. Debashis Chowdhury said.

Pacer Tanzim Hasan Sakib, who has made 28 appearances in white ball cricket for Bangladesh got a maiden call in absence of Taskin.

Liton Das was also excluded from the squad due to his Pakistan Super League (PSL) commitments. The wicket-keeper batter, who was granted NOC for full season of PSL will play for Karachi Kings.

Shahadat Hossain Dipu, Hasan Murad and Shoriful Islam were axed from the last Test squad, which travelled to the West Indies in late 2024.

Veteran Mushfiqur Rahim, who had recently retired from the ODI format following the Champions Trophy, continues to be a part of the red-ball setup.

Zimbabwe will arrive in Bangladesh on April 15.

The first Test begins at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on April 20, while the second match starts on April 28 at Chattogram’s Bir Shrestha Flight Lieutenant Motiur Rahman Stadium.
