DHAKA, May 21, 2025 (BSS)- Abahani Limited Dhaka thrashed Chittagong Abahani Limited by 5-0 goals in the Bashundhara Group Bangladesh Premier League football held at Shaheed Dhirendranath Datta Stadium in Cumilla today (Wednesday).

In the day’s match, Enamul Islam Gazi scored a brace while Nigerian forward Emeka Ogbugh defender Assaduzzaman Bablu and Brazilian midfielder Raphael Augusto supported him with a lone goal apiece for Abahani who led the first half by 2-0 goals.

Emeka opened an account scoring the first goal for Abahani in the 21st minute while Bablu doubled the lead scoring the second goal in the 43rd minute of the match.

After the breather, Raphael Augusto further widened the Abahani’s margin scoring the third goal in the 65th minute for a spot kick and Enamul Islam Gazi made the score line 4-0 in the 84th minute and he completed the winners’ tally scoring his second and fifth goal for Abahani in the 90+2nd minute of the match.

The day’s win saw, the traditional sky blue Dhanmondi outfit Abahani Limited advance to the second position in the league table topping Bashundhara Kings with 31 points from 16 matches while the port city team Chittagong Abahani Limited, remained with their previous credit of three points playing the same number of outings.
