Wanderers relegated from BPL

DHAKA, May 23, 2025 (BSS)-Dhaka Wanderers Club's relegated from the 
Bangladesh Premier League football after they suffered a 2-1 goal defeat to 
Fakirerpool Young Men's Club held at Shaheed Barkat Stadium in Gazipur today 
(Friday).

Earlier, Chittagong Abahani Limited as the first team relegated from the 
league. 

In the day's proceeding Ivorian defender Ouattara Ben Ibrahim scored a brace 
for Fakirerpool while Uzbek defender Khusan Ganijanov netted alone goal for 
Dhaka Wanderers. The winners' led the first half by 1-0 goal.

Ibrahim opened an account scoring the first goal for Fakirerpool in the 19th 
minute and after the breather he doubled the lead scoring the second goal in 
the 77th minute of the match.

Khusan Ganijanov reduced the margin scoring a lone goal for Wanderers in the 
80th minute.

The day's win saw, Fakirerpool, standing eighth position in the league table, 
bagged 19 points from 17 matches while Dhaka Wanderers Club, who place ninth 
position in the table, remained with their previous credit of ten points 
playing the same number of matches.
