Mustafizur ruled out of Pakistan tour due to injury

DHAKA, May 25, 2025 (BSS) - Pace bowler Mustafizur Rahman was ruled out of the Bangladesh's tour of Pakistan due to an injury.

The inform pacer has sustained a clip fracture of his left thumb during his stint with Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

The injury will keep him out of action for at least two weeks, said national team physio Delowar Hossain Siva.

"Mustafizur suffered a clip fracture on his left thumb while playing his last match of the Indian Premier League yesterday," Siva said.

"This injury requires a period of rest and rehabilitation. As per our current assessment, he will be unavailable for selection for the next two to three weeks. We will conduct a follow-up evaluation after two weeks to monitor his recovery progress."

Mustafizur took 3-33 against Punjab Kings to lead Delhi to six-wicket victory.

The BCB national selection panel has named fast bowler Khaled Ahmed as Mustafizur's replacement in the squad for the Pakistan tour.

Bangladesh will play a three-match T20 series against Pakistan. The first match is on Wednesday.
