Nepal make auspicious start in SAFF Women's U-20 Championship

DHAKA, July 12, 2025 (BSS)-Nepal made a winning start in the 6th edition of 
four-nation South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) U-20 Women's Championship 
2025 beating Bhutan by 6-1 goals in the second match of the day held at the 
Bashundhara Kings Arena in the capital today (Friday).

In the proceeding, Purnima Rai scored hat-trick with four goals in the 18rh, 
63rd, 84th and 88th minutes while Senu Pariyar supported her with two goals 
in the 9th and 45th minute for Nepal.

Kelden Wangmo netted a lone goal for Bhutan in the 54th minute of the match.

Nepal will play their second match against host Bangladesh while Bhutan face 
Sri Lanka on Sunday (July 13) at the same venue. 

Four South Asian nations -- Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka and host Bangladesh  are 
taking part in the 11-day meet on round robin league basis, organised by SAFF 
under the auspices of Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF).
