DHAKA, July 14, 2025 (BSS)- Rangpur Riders pacer Syed Khaled Ahmed attributed his success against Big Bash League (BBL) champions Hobart Hurricanes down to his perfect execution of bowling 'dot balls' at the crunch moment of the game.

Khaled returned figures of 4-26 and more importantly bowled the penultimate over in precision to help Rangpur win the nail-biting game against Hobart by 1 run in the Global Super League (GSL) at Guyana National Stadium in Providence, Guyana yesterday night.

He took two wickets in that over despite tasting six off Mohammad Nabi in the first delivery.

His heroics helped Rangpur eventually bowl Hobart out of 150 as they were chasing 152 for a victory.

"I just try to bowl 'dot balls'. Wickets come automatically when there is pressure on the batters," Khaled said after the match.

His match-winning spell earned him the man of the match. It was the second consecutive man of the match award for him, having taken 4-36 in the previous match against Guyana Amazon Warriors in his side's 8-run victory.

Defending champions Rangpur will take on ILT20 champions Dubai Capitals in their third match on Wednesday. A victory in that match would help them make a giant stride toward their second straight final.

Khaled stayed upbeat to maintain their winning streak.

"As I said after the first match, we are thinking match by match and we'll go that way," he said.

"We have won the second match. Now, we are looking at the next match. The goal is to maintain the winning streak."
