DINAJPUR, July 24, 2025 (BSS)- Thunder Blade team emerged champions in the Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman Football Tournament beating Young Star team by 4-2 goals in penalty shoot- out in the keenly contested final math held at Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science & Technology University (HSTU) central ground-1 today (Thursday).
The final match rolled in to tie breaker after the regulation time ended goalless draw.
The tournament was organized on the occasion of Festival of Youth.
Professor Dr. M. Enamullah, Vice Chancellor of HSTU, was the chief guest in the final and distributed the prizes.
Speaking as the chief guest on the occasion, the chief guest said that he was happy that this tournament was held in the name of a great man, the successful president of this country, Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman.
He advised the students of this university to engage in sports to enhance their physical abilities in addition to their studies.
The Vice Chancellor also urged all concerned to ensure such sports event like Festival of Youth throughout the year.
