CHANDPUR, Nov 16, 2025 (BSS) - Seven business establishments were gutted in a fire at Kalir Bazar under Faridganj upazila of the district last night.

The fire broke out in the market at midnight from a shop and soon engulfed the adjacent shops.

Being informed, fire fighters rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control after one hour of effort.

Kamrul Islam, officer-in-charge of Faridganj Fire Service Station, said “We reached the spot quickly after receiving the news and brought the fire under control.”

Traders of the market claimed that the fire caused damage worth Taka 10 lakh.

However, the extent of the damage has not been determined yet.
