Bangladesh, Mexico explore pharmaceutical, health-sector collaboration

DHAKA, Nov 16, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh and Mexico have discussed new avenues for collaboration in the pharmaceutical and retail health sectors as Bangladesh's Ambassador to Mexico Mushfiqul Fazal Ansarey undertook an official visit to Mexican state of Nuevo Le¢n to advance bilateral economic cooperation. 

According to Bangladesh Embassy in Mexico, the Ambassador met the CEO of Farmacias del Ahorro, leading Mexican retail pharmacy chain, where discussions focused on sourcing, investment and knowledge exchange in the pharma and retail health industries. 

He highlighted Bangladesh's rapidly expanding pharmaceutical sector and invited the CEO to visit Bangladesh to explore partnership opportunities. 

Ambassador Ansarey also met Patricio Garza Sada of Laboratorios Corne to exchange views on Bangladesh's competitive pharma ecosystem and identify prospects for technological cooperation and future business linkages.

In a separate meeting, the Ambassador met Alvaro Barrera Segovia, owner of Base Bank and Textile and Confection Industries, and discussed Nuevo Le¢n's economic outlook while exploring potential bilateral cooperation in textiles, garments, and manufacturing.
