BKF brings players under salary structure

DHAKA, July 26, 2025 (BSS)- Bangladesh Kabaddi Federation (BKF) for the first time has implemented a monthly salary for its women's kabaddi players. 

Initially, 20 members of the girls' U-18 Kabaddi team participating in the Youth Asian Games to be held in Bahrain, received their monthly salary.

BKF general secretary SM Newas Shohag  said this at a press conference at Bangladesh Olympic Association auditorium today.

He said after the girls' team, the boys' kabaddi team players would also be brought under the monthly pay roll in phases.

He said apart from food, accommodation and other expenditure, each player would get Taka ten thousand as monthly salary.   

Shohag said the BKF is undertaking various programs to enrich the future pipeline. For the first time, Kabaddi players were brought under the long cherished monthly salary scheme, he said adding that this step is a major milestone in the development of Kabaddi.

Meanwhile, the BKF has announced the sports calendar from July 2025 to June 2026 which includes ten events at national level and seven events at international level.

In addition, there will be four training camp events.
