Women's Kabaddi World Cup postponed

DHAKA, July 26, 2025 (BSS) - The 2nd Women's Kabaddi World Cup, which was scheduled to be held next month in India, has been postponed,  an email received  by Bangladesh  Kabaddi Federation (BKF)  confirmed  this afternoon.

The email read that it took time to get clearance from the concerned ministry due to the participating countries not submitting team contingent details on time. As a result, the Women's Kabaddi World Cup has been postponed.

Earlier, the BKF general secretary SM Newaz Shohag announced a 15-member Bangladesh women’s kabaddi team for the kabaddi World Cup at a press conference held at Bangladesh Olympic Association auditorium.

Bangladesh women’s kabaddi team for World Cup – Sraboni Mollick, Brishty Biswas, Rupali (senior) (captain), Mst Smrity Akter, Rekha Aktari, Mebi Chakma, Rupali Akter (junior), Desha Moni Sarkar, Suchorita Chakma, Khadija Khatun, Loba Akter, Tahrim, Ishrat Jahan Sadika and Anjuara Ratri,

Stand byes –Lucky Akter.

Officials - Shanaz Parvin Maleka and Arduzzaman Munshi (coach), Monir Hossain (manager) and Swapan Khan (international technical official).
