RAJSHAHI, July 28, 2025 (BSS) - Managers, coaches and players of national taekwondo, inter-university basketball and cricket competitions were given blazers and prizes for their tremendous performance in the competitions.
Rajshahi University (RU) administration organised the prize-giving ceremony at its senate building today.
On the occasion, the Physical Education and Sports Science department bagged the champion trophy, while the department of psychology clinched runner-up trophy.
Apart from this, 62 students got blazers for their participation in the sports meets.
Vice-chancellor (VC) Prof Saleh Hassan Naquib accompanied by Pro-VCs Prof Farid Uddin Khan and Prof Main uddin, Treasurer Prof Matiar Rahman and Director of Physical Education Department Roksana Begum distributed the prizes.
Prof Saleh Hassan Naquib said sports are the identity of any nation's civilization, including Bangladesh, and underscored the need for protecting tradition and dignity.
"We have seen chaos and violence in sports grounds frequently in the past and no more chaos and untoward incidents will be tolerated at any means," he added.
