DHAKA, Aug 4, 2025 (BSS) - The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) today announced a 25-member preliminary squad for the upcoming Asia Cup to be held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The BCB asked the available players to report for a fitness camp at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on August 6. Skill training will begin at the same venue on August 15 before the camp moves to Sylhet on August 20.

Ahead of the Asia Cup, Bangladesh are highly likely to play a T20 series against the Netherlands.

The BCB is yet to release the itinerary, but the series is likely to comprise three matches and will be held between August 26 and September 4. All matches are expected to take place at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium.

Bangladesh were originally scheduled to play three ODIs and three T20 matches against India this August. However, India's tour was postponed for a year, prompting the BCB to arrange the series against the Dutch as part of their preparation for the Asia Cup.

This will be the Netherlands' first tour of Bangladesh for a bilateral T20 series.
