Tigresses to kick off second phase of training on Aug 8

DHAKA, Aug 5, 2025 (BSS)-The Bangladesh Women's team will begin the second
phase of training for the upcoming World Cup on August 8.

They practice session will run till August 16 after which the players will
play matches amongst themselves to prepare them fully for the event.

The ICC Women's ODI World Cup will be held in September this year. Before the
tournament, the Bangladesh women's team will play two official warm-up
matches against the Sri Lanka national team and the Sri Lanka 'A' team.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the schedule of the Women's
ODI World Cup warm-up matches last month. All eight participating teams will
play warm-up matches, running from September 25-28.

On the first day of the warm-up match, Bangladesh will face the Sri Lanka 'A'
team at the Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. The Tigresses will take on the Sri
Lanka national team in their second and final warm-up match on September 27.

The warm-up matches will be Bangladesh's only preparation platform before the
World Cup because no International matches were arranged for them so far.

However, Nigar Sultana Joty and her side are continuing their regular
practice. After initial came in Sylhet, the cricketers are currently taking
rest.

All the coaching staff are with the women's team to help them prepare for the
showcase event. Head coach Sarwar Imran is accompanied by Alamgir Kabir.
Along with the head coach, Alamgir is also looking after the pacers. He is
also paying extra attention to fielding. He has been working with the team
since the beginning of the camp. Earlier, Rabiul Islam was in charge of the
women's team's pace bowling.
