DHAKA, Aug 8, 2025 (BSS)- Trishna Rani slammed a brilliant hat-trick saw Bangladesh thrashed Timor-Leste by 8-0 goals in their second group H match of the AFC Under-20 Women's Asian Cup 2026 Thailand qualifiers held at the New Laos National Stadium, Vientiane today (Friday).
Apart from Trishna's hat-trick with three goals in the match, Sinha Shikha, Shanti Mardi, Nabiran Khatun, Sagorika and Munki Akhter supported her with a lone goal each for Bangladesh in the one-sided affairs after leading the first half by 4-0 goals.
Shikha opened an account scoring the first goal for Bangladesh with a header from inside the danger zone utilizing a corner from Sapna Rani in the 20th minute.
Shanti Mardi doubled the lead for Bangladesh with a spectacular goal as her corner kick from the right flank found inside the net after hitting the left side bar in the 33rd minute.
Nabiran Khatun further widened the margin, scoring the third goal for Bangladesh in the 36th minute with a header off a corner from Shanti Mardi.
Trishna scored the fourth goal for Bangladesh with a placing shot from the close range following a combined attack in the 45+4th minute.
Back with a healthy 4-0 lead, Bangladesh continued their onslaught and added another four goals in the second half to secure their second successive victory in the tournament.
Trishna scored her second and fifth goal for Bangladesh in the 57th minute while Sagorika made the score line 6-0 in the 73rd minute of the match.
Trishna completed her hat-trick scoring the seventh goal for Bangladesh in the 82nd minute while Munki completed the winners' tally scoring the eighth goal in the 90+6th minute of the match.
Earlier, the eve football team made a winning start in the tournament beating host Laos by 3-1 goals. Bangladesh will play their last match against South Korea on Sunday (Aug 10). The fate of this group will be decided in the last match.
Thirty-two teams divided into eight groups will contest in the round-robin league format qualifiers, and eight group winners and the three best runners-up will join hosts Thailand in April 2026.
