Channel 24 emerge champions in Media Cup cricket

DHAKA, Nov 24, 2025 (BSS)- Channel 24 emerged as champion in the Fortune–Barisal Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) Media Cup cricket tournament  beating Channel I by three wickets in the final held at Maulana Bhasani National Hockey Stadium today (Monday).

Batting first, Channel I posted a competitive total of 76 runs for two wickets from their allotted six over and in reply Channel 24 reached the target for the loss of wickets.

Gias Uddin Sajib of Channel 24 was adjudged the player of the match for his impressive performance in the final while Nilandri Shekhor of Channel I was named the player of the tournament.

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) chief selector and former captain of the national cricket team Gazi Ashraf Hossain Lipu was the chief guest in the final and distributed the prizes. 

DRU president Abu Saleh Akon, its general secretary Mainul Hasan Sohel and DRU Sports Secretary Md. Mojibur Rahman, were among others, also present on the occasion.
