DHAKA, Nov 28, 2025 (BSS) - Motivated Bangladesh U-17 national football team maintained their all-win run in the 2026 AFC U-17 Asian Cup qualifiers beating strong Bahrain by 2-1 goals in their penultimate match of the group held at Tongliang Long Stadium, Chongqing, China today (Friday).

After a cagey and goalless first half, the game burst into life in the second half.

Bayzit finally broke the stalemate in the 59th minute after an attempt, taken by Sabbir, came to his way.

Manik doubed the lead with a perfect long-range shot off a cross from Faysal to make the score line 2-0.

Hossain Zubair reduced the margin scoring a lone goal for Bahrain in the 85th minute.

Bangladesh will play their crucial last group match against host China on November 30.

Earlier, Bangladesh made a flying start in the tournament crushing Timor-Leste by 5-0 goals in opening group A match and thrashed Brunei by 8-0 goals in their second match.

The boys in red and green again registered a massive 5-0 goal victory over Sri Lanka in their third match of the group.

Seven group champions will secure places in the 16-team finals, joining hosts Saudi Arabia and eight other nations who have already qualified for the 2025 FIFA U-17 World Cup.
