DHAKA, Dec 6, 2025 (BSS) - Opener Soumya Sarkar played an aggressive knock to 
guide Khulna Division to 302-9 on Day 1 of the seventh and final round of the 
27th National Cricket League (NCL) against Rangpur at Shaheed Chandu Stadium 
in Bogra.

Soumya's 55-ball 56, which included 11 boundaries, was the highlight of 
Khulna's innings. His fluent batting ensured the team crossed the 300-mark, 
despite no other batter managing to score a half-century.

Four other Khulna batters went past the 30-run mark but failed to convert 
their starts into big scores. Ziaur Rahman made the second-best score with 
36, followed by wicketkeeper-batter Imranuzzaman, 34, captain Mithun ,33, and 
Nahidul Islam ,30.

At stumps, Mehedi Hasan Rana was unbeaten on 28 and will look to join Soumya 
in the fifty-plus club, while No. 11 batter Abdul Halim was on 2.

For Rangpur, Nasir Hossain was the pick of the bowlers, claiming 3-51, while 
Mukidul Islam Mugdho and Sohel Rana both took two wickets each.
