DHAKA, Dec 18, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh leg-spinner Rishad Hossain claimed two
wickets but couldn't prevent his side Hobart Hurricanes' from an eight-wicket
defeat to Melbourne Stars in their second game of the Big Bash League (BBL)
at Melbourne Cricket Ground today.

The batters failure caused the heavy defeat for Hobart. Asked to bat first,
Hobart managed to put up 158-9 with Ben McDermott making highest 69 off 52.
Only two other batters-Tim David (31) and Matthew Wade (11) could reach
double digits. Rishad was unbeaten on 5.

Melbourne Stars openers Thomas Rogers and Joe Clarke made fluent start to the
chase before Rishad dismissed both of the openers in seven balls, fishing
with 2-33 in three overs.

But despite his breakthrough, Hobart's other bowlers failed to capitalize on
it. Captain Marcus Stoinis led the charge with 31 balll-62 not out to help
Melbourne reached the winning target of 159-2 in 16 overs.

Earlier, in the first match, Hobart beat Sydney Thunder by four wickets.
Rishad didn't get any wicket in that match but his economical spell played an
important role in winning the game.
