BKF mourns death of its treasurer Monir Hossain

DHAKA, Jan 21, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh Kabaddi Federation (BKF) today expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of its treasurer Md Monir Hossain.

Monir Hossain passed away wee hours of Wednesday due to brain stroke at around 1.30 am at the age of 54, said a press release.

He left behind wife, a son, a daughter and host of well wishers to mourn his death.

With his death, BKF has lost a skilled organizer and a dedicated sports personality. His contribution for the development of country's kabaddi will be remembered with respect. His void will never be filled easily, said the release.

In another message, Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA) also expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of BKF treasurer Monir Hossain.

The BOA press release said the BKF has lost a skilled organizer and a dedicated sports personality. He had been working for the development of the game of Kabaddi in the country with great reputation for a long time. His void will never be filled. 

The BOA family is deeply saddened and shocked by the sudden death of Monir Hossain.
