DHAKA, March 14, 2026 (BSS)- The Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Bangladesh Athletics Federation (BAF) former executive committee member, former deputy director (training) of BKSP and national sports award winner Shamima Sattar Mimu.

The former athlete breathed her last at around 11 pm due to a cardiac arrest at her residence in the capital on Friday night. 

In a condolence message, BFF president Tabith Awal, along with the senior vice president, vice presidents, executive committee members, general secretary, all standing committees and officials, and staff of BFF, expressed their deepest condolences at the death of Mimu and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.

Different sports bodies including Bangladesh Basketball Federation and Bangladesh Wushu Federation, also expressed deep shock at the passing away of Mimu.
