DHAKA, April 9, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman failed to grab any wicket as his side Lahore Qalandars endured a crushing nine-wicket defeat to Islamabad United in their crucial game in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) today at National Stadium in Karachi.
The batters’ failure basically paved the ground for a crushing defeat for Lahore who were skittled out for just 100 in 18.3 overs after being sent to bat first.
Islamabad’s South African recruit Chris Green tormented Lahore with his wily off-spin, claiming 3-19. He was ably supported by Imad Wasim, Richard Gleeson and Shadab Khan who all took two wickets apiece.
The bowlers’ performance was imperative in defending such low total but Lahore bowlers including Mustafizur Rahm failed to come up with the terms.
Only Shaheen Shah Afridi claimed a wicket initially by dismissing Sameer Minhas.
However, Devon Conway and Mohammad Faiq shared a 93-run for the unbeaten second wicket to sail the side home in just 10.2 overs, reaching 104-1 for a victory.
Conway was not out on 59 off 35 after hitting seven fours and three sixes while Faiq was unbeaten on 34. Mustafizur went wicket-less after giving away 16 runs in two overs.
