College student killed in accident on Ctg elevated expressway

CHATTOGRAM, April 9, 2026 (BSS) - A college student was killed today in a road accident on the elevated expressway in front of Gosaildanga temple in the city.

The deceased was identified as Samia Jahan Tanisha (22), a resident of Fulgali Shah Amanat Housing Society in the Rahattarpul area of the city. She was a student of the Economics Department at Hazratju Degree College.

The accident took place around 3 pm today when a private car, carrying Tanisha, lost control and hit the road divider, leaving her seriously injured, locals said.

She was rushed to Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) where, on-duty doctors declared her dead.

Nurul Alam Ashek, in-charge of CMCH Hospital Police Outpost, confirmed that the body of the deceased was kept in the hospital morgue and would be handed over to her family after completing necessary legal procedures.
