DHAKA, April 30, 2026 (BSS)- Mini School Handball Tournament (Boys & Girls) was inaugurated at the Shaheed (Captain) M. Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium on Thursday.

State Minister for Youth and Sports Md. Aminul Haque inaugurated the tournament as the chief guest. The competition has been organized by the Bangladesh Handball Federation.

Observing the enthusiastic participation of young players, the State Minister expressed satisfaction and praised the federation for arranging the event. He also assured that handball would be included in the government’s ‘Notun Kuri’ development programme in the future.

On the opening day of the boys group, Sunnydale beat South Point 6–2, Mitali Bidyapith defeated Motijheel Ideal School and College 4–1, while Nirjhar Cantonment Public School and College overcame Saint Gregory High School and College 4–1. 

Motijheel Model School and College registered a big 9–0 win over Wills Little Flower School and College, and Navy College beat Motijheel Model School and College 4–0. 

In other matches, Wills Little Flower School and College defeated Mitali Bidyapith 5–2, South Point School and College beat Saint Gregory 5–1, Nirjhar Cantonment Public School and College overcame Sunnydale 5–2, and Motijheel Model School and College defeated Navy College 4–1.
In the girls’ division, Viqarunnisa Noon School and College beat Nirjhar Cantonment School and College 7–2, Sunnydale crushed Navy College 12–0, and Motijheel Ideal School and College defeated Motijheel Model School and College 3–0. 

Sunnydale also thrashed Wills Little Flower School and College 13–0. Shere Bangla Girls College beat Navy College 8–6 and later defeated Wills Little Flower 5–2, while Viqarunnisa Noon School and College outplayed Motijheel Ideal School and College 10–0.
