DHAKA, May 10, 2026 (BSS) - Opener Naim Sheikh smashed a scintillating 145 as
Mohammedan Sporting Club posted a formidable total in a rain-affected third
round of the Dhaka Premier League (DPL) today at different venues across the
city.

Batting at the ULAB Cricket Ground, Naeem struck his 11th List A century,
hammering five fours and 12 sixes in a 136-ball innings to guide Mohammedan
to 345-6 against Rupganj Tigers.

In reply, Rupganj Tigers slumped to 53-5 in 16.5 overs before rain halted
play. The match will resume from the same position tomorrow.

The match between defending champions Abahani Limited and Brothers Union also
went in reserve day after the rain's intervention at PKSP ground. Riding on
half-centuries from Mahidul Islam Ankon (83), SM Meherob Hasan (77) and
Mosaddek Hossain (62 not out), Abahani posted 283-6.

Brothers reached 49-1 in 12 overs before rain stopped play, with the chase
set to resume tomorrow morning.

Abahani are in search of their first victory in the season after suffering
defeats in the last two matches.

The other four matches, however, saw the result although in DLS method.

At the Bashundhara Sports Complex, Shahadat Hossain Sabuj produced a career-
best 132 to power Gulshan Cricket Club to their first victory of the season.

Sabuj, who had scored only 123 runs in his previous eight List A appearances,
struck 17 fours and one six in his 121-ball knock against Agrani Bank Cricket
Club. He shared a 187-run fourth-wicket partnership with Shahriar Sakib, who
made 75, as Gulshan amassed 301-5.

under the DLS method, they were set 193 runs in 26 overs but collapsed for
132 in 24.2 overs, handing Gulshan a 60-run victory.

Zakir Hasan smashed 137 off 134 balls to help Dhaka Leopards reach 306-9
against City Club at BKSP-4 ground.,

City Club were 96-1 in 20.1 overs when rain stopped play, exactly matching
the DLS par score, and were declared winners by one run in dramatic fashion.
Mizanur Rahman's boundary-hitting in the previous over proved decisive.

Meanwhile, Prime Bank Cricket Club maintained their unbeaten run with a 20-
run win over Legends of Rupganj under DLS method at BKSP-3 ground.

Rupganj were bowled out for 227 before Prime Bank moved to 108-2 in 25.4
overs when rain intervened. As no further play was possible, Prime Bank were
declared winners by 20 runs under DLS, registering their third straight
victory. Opener Shahadat Hossain Dipu remained unbeaten on 61.

At the Cricketers Academy Ground, Bashundhara Strikers secured their second
win of the season after defeating Gazi Group Cricketers by 10 runs in another
rain-curtailed encounter.
