DHAKA, June 6, 2026 (BSS) — Australia will hold their first training session in Bangladesh tomorrow (Sunday) as preparations begin for the upcoming white-ball series against the hosts Bangladesh, comprising three ODIs and as many T20 Internationals.

The Australian squad arrived in Dhaka on Friday directly from Pakistan, where they recently lost a three-match ODI series 2-1.

Bangladesh are also scheduled to train tomorrow, according to the programme released by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). The two teams will use the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium at different times amid the BCB elections which is set to take place at the venue on the same day.

The ODI series will begin on June 9 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka, with the remaining matches scheduled for June 11 and 14 at the same venue.

The teams will then travel to Chattogram for the T20 leg of the tour. The three matches are slated for June 17, 19 and 21 at the Bir Shrestha Shaheed Flight Lieutenant Motiur Rahman Stadium.

The ODI series marks Australia's first visit to Bangladesh for a 50-over contest in 15 years. During their previous ODI tour in 2011, Michael Clarke's side completed a 3-0 clean sweep over a Bangladesh team led by Shakib Al Hasan.

Australia's most recent white-ball assignment in Bangladesh came in 2021 when the hosts, under Mahmudullah Riyad, secured a historic 4-1 victory in a five-match T20I series, which was their first series win over Australia in any format.

The visitors head into the series after suffering a 2-1 ODI series defeat to Pakistan. Although premier fast bowlers Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins are absent from the squad, Australia have been bolstered by the return of explosive opener Travis Head, who missed the Pakistan series due to his Indian Premier League (IPL) commitments.

Australia squad: Josh Inglis, Oliver Peake, Cooper Connolly, Liam Scott, Tanveer Sangha, Nathan Ellis, Matthew Kuhnemann, Ben Dwarshuis, Xavier Bartlett, Cameron Green, Travis Head, Riley Meredith, Matthew Short, Adam Zampa, Billy Stanlake, Alex Carey, Matt Renshaw, Mitchell Marsh and Marnus Labuschagne.
