DHAKA, June 6, 2026 (BSS) - The Bangladesh Women's team arrived in England on Friday to take part in the ICC T20 World Cup.

They moved to London, straight from the Edinburg after playing in a tri-series T20 tournament, featuring hosts Scotland and Netherlands also.

After losing the first two matches to Scotland and Netherlands, they hit back to the winning ways by defeating both teams in the second-leg.

Opener Dilara Akter shined in with the fastest half-century by a Bangladeshi in Women's T20 Internationals, reaching the milestone in just 22 deliveries against Netherlands to script the side's 13-run victory.

Hosts Scotland led the standings with six points, while Bangladesh finished second with four.

The tournament was seen as a perfect preparation platform for Bangladesh for the T20 World Cup.

Bangladesh will kick off their T20 World Cup campaign against the Netherlands on June 14 before facing Australia, Pakistan, India and South Africa in the group stage.
