
DHAKA, Sept 8, 2026 (BSS) — Bangladesh continued their impressive run in the 2026 Women’s Junior Asia Cup Hockey defeating Kazakhstan by 4-0 goals to emerge top of the Challenger Pool with one match in hand today (Tuesday).
Held in China’s Inner Mongolia, the victory also secured Bangladesh a place among the top six teams in the 10-team tournament.
Bangladesh dominated from the outset and took a 2-0 lead into halftime. Sharika Rimon opened the scoring in the third minute with a penalty corner, before Liza Akter doubled the advantage with a field goal in the 14th minute.
Zakia Afroze Lima extended Bangladesh's lead to 3-0 with a field goal in the 46th minute, while captain Sharika Rimon completed the tally with another penalty corner in the 51st minute.
Combining a solid defensive unit with an effective attacking force, Bangladesh gave Kazakhstan little room throughout the match.
The win was Bangladesh's third straight in the tournament after victories over Chinese Taipei and Pakistan.
Bangladesh will play their ultimate group match against Hong Kong China tomorrow (Wednesday).
