DHAKA, April 23, 2026 (BSS) - A nationwide sports initiative titled “Notun Kuri Sports” is set to begin on May 2, aiming to identify talented athletes from the grassroots across the country.

Official sources said today that the programme will be formally inaugurated by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman at 3pm at Sylhet district stadium.

To ensure smooth implementation, the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) has issued urgent directives to all secondary educational institutions.

School authorities have been instructed to encourage students aged between 12 and 14 to participate in the talent-hunt event through online or on-the-spot registration.

Institutions have also been directed to display approved banners at their entrances and promote the initiative on their websites and social media platforms.

Necessary instructions must also be posted on school notice boards.
