Parki Tourism Complex to be completed by Dec: Bashir

CHATTOGRAM (South), August 27, 2025(BSS) - Commerce, Jute and Textiles and Civil Aviation and Tourism Adviser Sheikh Bashir Uddin today said the construction work of Parki Parjaton Complex under Anwara upazila of the district would be completed by December.

"The officials of the construction farm and project director of the complex have assured that the construction work would be completed within December," he told the reporters while visiting the project at about 11am.

The implementation of the project has been delayed due to many reasons especially the water problem, he added.

Secretary to the Civil Aviation and Tourism Ministry Begum Nasreen Jahan said that the tourism complex at Parki beach is a very potential project and the active participation of local people, tourist police and law and order forces is very important to implement it.

Chairman of Bangladesh Parjaton Corporation Sayema Shaheen Sultana, Project Director Majedur Rahman, Upazila Nirbahi Officer of Anwara Tahmina Akhter and Assistant Commissioner (AC Land) Dipok Tripura, accompanied the adviser.

The construction of Parki Tourism Complex begun in 2018 at a cost of Taka 62 crore on 13.36 acres of land and the first phase of the project ended in November 2020. 

Three constructing farms completed only 20 percent of the total project within the scheduled time and it was extended up to December 2021 and the allocation was increased up to Taka 71.25 crore but the progress of implantation was not satisfactory. Lastly, the project was extended up to December this year.
