DHAKA, June 28, 2025 (BSS) -The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has announced a comprehensive series of programmes to commemorate the anniversary of the historic July Mass Uprising.

A preparatory meeting was recently held to finalize the details of the observance, which aims to honor the martyrs and reflect on the enduring significance of the movement.

As part of the initiative, Bangladesh missions abroad will organize diverse programmes including the publication of graffiti books, display of posters and screenings of the feature film 'Shraban Biddhroho', which centers on the events of the uprising.

A weeklong observance will begin in early August with a special prayer and discussion to be held at the Totthyo Bhaban in the capital in memory of the martyrs.

One of the highlights of this year's commemoration is a colorful rally, set to feature the participation of officials and staff from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting along with its affiliated departments and agencies.

From July 1 to August 5 this year, special articles, features, and supplements on the July Mass Uprising will be published in leading newspapers across the country.

In addition, billboards will be set up, and posters and festoons will be distributed nationwide to raise awareness of the movement's historical impact.

A publication festival showcasing books written on the uprising will also take place at the Totthyo Bhaban.

The premiere of 'Shraban Biddhroho' will be held on July 5 at the Kabi Sufia Kamal Auditorium of the Bangladesh National Museum.

The film will also be screened across the country via district information offices, while related documentaries will be shown nationwide.

State-run media outlets, including Bangladesh Betar and Bangladesh Television, will air special programmes to mark the occasion.

A photography and graffiti exhibition capturing moments from the July Uprising will be held at the Totthyo Bhaban, Bangladesh Film Archive and various universities in Dhaka.

In a mark of profound respect, families of journalists who were martyred during the uprising will receive special honors, grants and commemorative gifts.

An international seminar is also slated to be organized by the Ministry as part of the mass uprising anniversary programme.
