Govt didn't raise edible oil prices: Bashir

DHAKA, Oct 14, 2025 (BSS) - Commerce Adviser Sk Bashir Uddin today confirmed that the government has not increased the prices of edible oil.
 
"No decision has been made to increase the price", Bashir Uddin told reporters after inauguration of the five-day '20th National Furniture Fair 2025,' at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in the city. 
 
He said that the Ministry of Commerce is responsible for setting edible oil prices. "I want to make it clear to the nation through you that oil price increases are decided by the Ministry of Commerce," he stated.
