Govt approves proposal for reducing timeframe in procurement process of 3 lakh MTs rice

DHAKA, Jan 16, 2025 (BSS) - The government today approved a proposal in
principle for reducing the timeframe of purchasing 3 lakh tonnes of rice for
emergency state purpose.

Such quantity of rice will be procured following the international Open
Tender Method (OTM) in line with the Section 83 (1) (Ka) of the Public
Procurement Rules, 2008.

The approval came from the 2nd meeting of the Advisers Council Committee on
Economic Affairs held in this year at the Cabinet Division Conference Room at
Bangladesh Secretariat today.

Finance Adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed presided over the meeting.
