BB relaxes foreign travel restrictions for bankers

DHAKA, Jan 19, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Bank (BB) has relaxed the policy on foreign travel for bank officials, according to a circular issued by the central bank today.

The circular stated that bank officials and employees can now travel abroad for training, seminars, workshops, or study tours funded by banks.

However, officials must obtain permission from authorities concerned at their banks for such travel. This will come into effect immediately. 

The directive is issued under the authority granted by Section 45 of the Bank Company Act, 1991, the circular added.
