BB allows banks to open deferred import LCs for up to 1 yr

DHAKA, Jan 20, 2025 (BSS) – Bangladesh Bank (BB) has allowed banks to open deferred letters of credit (LCs) for import up to one year.

“It has been decided to continue the issuance tenure of 360 days till December 31, 2025. The extended issuance period will not be applicable for imports under EDF loans as earlier,” said a BB circular issued today.

Other relevant instructions will remain unchanged, the circular added.
