
DHAKA, Nov 5, 2025 (BSS) - Industries Adviser Adilur Rahman Khan today said
that the eco-friendly Atlas Electric Scooter represents a commitment to
building green, clean, and sustainable cities.
He noted that these scooters would play a significant role in providing
affordable and convenient transportation for young people and the commoners.
"This innovation will reduce our dependence on fuel, save foreign currency,
and help protect the environment by cutting carbon emissions," he added.
The Industries Adviser made these remarks today while inaugurating the
marketing programme of Atlas Electric Motorcycles at the factory premises of
Atlas Bangladesh Ltd in Tongi, Gazipur.
Industries Secretary Md. Obaidur Rahman, BSEC Chairman Md. Anwarul Alam and
Professor Mohammad Ridwanul Haque were present, among others, said an
Industries Ministry press release.
The adviser further stated that the foundation of building a new Bangladesh
through mass uprising is environment-friendly, technology-driven, and
sustainable industrialization.
"The government has always supported the growth of domestic industries and
will continue to do so in the future. Our goal is for the people of
Bangladesh to use world-class local products and strengthen the national
economy.
In that respect, the launch of these electric scooters is undoubtedly a
meaningful step forward," he said.
Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, Industries Secretary Md. Obaidur Rahman
said that the world is now taking initiatives to become environmentally
friendly through the use of electric vehicles.
"The Electric Vehicle Policy in Bangladesh is in its final stage. With Atlas
scooters, we have entered the EV sector- and we will soon bring electric cars
to the market as well," he added.
Atlas Bangladesh Ltd has introduced four models of "Atlas Electric Scooters"
under the Atlas EV brand-- S-100, S-90, S-80, and S-70.
The scooters are being assembled locally by Atlas Bangladesh Ltd under the
Ministry of Industries, through a collaboration agreement with China's
renowned electric bike manufacturer Zhejiang Luyuan Electric Vehicle Co. Ltd.
(Luyuan).
The parts are imported and assembled in Bangladesh, and the first phase
includes these four models, specially designed considering Bangladesh's
climate and road conditions.
Senior officials from the Ministry of Industries, Atlas Bangladesh Ltd, and
related organizations, as well as distributors of Atlas Electric Scooters,
were present, among others, at the event.
