DHAKA, May 21, 2026 (BSS) - Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) PLC today launched the country's first Bengali-language publication on commodity derivatives aimed at building awareness and enhancing understanding of the emerging commodity derivatives market in Bangladesh.

Titled "Commodity Derivatives Insights," the publication was unveiled by CSE Chairman AKM Habibur Rahman at a ceremony attended by members of the exchange's board of directors, said a press release.

Speaking at the event, Rahman said the book has been designed as a foundational guide to help market participants gain a transparent understanding of commodity derivatives trading within a structured exchange environment.

He said the publication explains the technical processes involved in futures contract trading in a simple and accessible manner so that new participants can better understand the market mechanism.

According to the CSE, the guide includes detailed discussions on the relationship between the spot market and the commodity derivatives market, the role of the clearing corporation in ensuring operational security, and strategies for price risk management through hedging practices.

The publication also highlights the broader economic importance of hedging in reducing price volatility and strengthening market stability.

In addition, the book contains a glossary of financial and technical terms alongside a frequently asked questions section to support readers and new investors.

CSE officials said the initiative seeks to bridge the existing knowledge gap surrounding commodity derivatives and encourage wider public participation and confidence in the exchange's trading system.

The publication also introduces several commodities expected to be traded on the CSE for the first time and outlines the present condition and future growth prospects of Bangladesh's commodity market.

The book is now available through retail platforms including Rokomari, https://www.rokomari.com
