Road accident kills Khatib in Gaibandha

GAIBANDHA, Jan 3, 2025 (BSS) - A khatib of a mosque was killed in a road 
accident in Chowmatha area of the Bogra-Rangpur Highway under Gobindaganj 
upazila of the district this morning. 

The victim was Hafez Jahid Hasan of Kalugari village under Shibganj upazila in Bogura district.

Police said the accident occurred when a motorcycle hit a roadside electric pillar as its rider Jahid Hasan lost control over the bike around 9 am in the area, leaving him critically injured. 

Hafez Jahid Hasan was going to the mosque to offer Jumma prayers from his fater-in-law's house this morning riding the motorcycle.

Confirming the incident, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Gobindaganj Highway Thana Mozaffar Hossain said the body was handed over to the victim's 
family.
