2 killed, 2 injured in a Mongla road accident

KHULNA, Jan 16, 2025 (BSS) - Two paddy-harvesting labourers were killed and two others injured when their human-hauler turned turtle at Chopra area under Mongla Upazila in Bagerhat district last night.

Police said the deceased are: Didar Mollah, 25, and Rokan Uddin Khokon, 60, Anisur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge of Mongla Police Station, told BSS today.

Two of the injured, Wahed Mallik, 40, was rushed to Khulna Medical College Hospital, while Milon Mallik, 35, underwent treatment at Mongla Upazila Health Complex.    

According to police, the labourers were returning to their homes after harvesting paddy riding on the human hauler. They fell prey to the accident when their vehicle turned turtle around 1.30 am. 

Didar Mollah was killed on the spot, while Rokan Uddin succumbed to his injuries on way to the nearby upazila health complex.
